Hope Without Borders: Volunteer Supporting Elderly People and Children in Sofia 2026–2027

Caritas Sofia is seeking a motivated volunteer to support elderly people, Roma children and families, and people facing social exclusion. As part of a team of ESC volunteers, you will help deliver meals and essential supplies to up to 10 elderly people daily, working alongside a social care assistant. Driving is a key responsibility, so a valid driving licence and confidence driving in Sofia are required. You will build meaningful connections with elderly beneficiaries, assist with social support activities, and have opportunities to learn Bulgarian. The role also includes delivering meals to a Roma children’s centre, where you can help with English learning, sports, games, or other activities based on your interests. The placement offers hands-on experience in social care and community work, while developing skills in communication, teamwork, and initiative. No professional experience is needed. We are looking for someone reliable, respectful, willing to learn, comfortable with driving and practical tasks, and committed to the full volunteering period.
