"
1. Aim of the Triple Degree Scholarships

The aim of the Triple Degree Scholarships (hereinafter referred to as the SCHOLARSHIPS) is to support students in completing their full curriculum through a triple degree programme at the University of Pavia and the University of Vaasa, thereby extending their knowledge and skills in advanced digital technologies (one of the DIGI-ME target areas).

2. DIGI-ME Scholarships

The SCHOLARSHIPS are granted by the DIGI-ME project. The DIGI-ME project is co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101123009. Up to EUR 100,000 is available to be distributed through targeted scholarships at Grenoble Ecole de Management (hereinafter referred to as GEM). Through this call, up to ten (10) selected candidates will receive a scholarship to support their participation in the DIGI-ME path of the triple degree programme with the University of Pavia and the University of Vaasa.

3. Financial value

3.1 Scholarships are provided as a lump sum to support students in paying their tuition fees during the triple degree exchange programme. Each selected beneficiary will receive a lump sum for two mobility periods totalling 8 to 10 months, depending on the individual Learning Agreement, in the period from January 2027 to May 2027 at the University of Pavia (Italy) and from January 2028 to May 2028 at the University of Vaasa (Finland).

The scholarship comprises a minimum of one component (Item A) and a maximum of two components (Items A and B).

3.1.1 Fixed component

Item A: Total contribution towards tuition fees: EUR 8,000 (one-time payment).

3.1.2 Additional component based on special conditions

Item B: Additional contribution towards tuition fees for participants with fewer opportunities: EUR 2,000 (one-time payment).

Participants with fewer opportunities are defined as students who, prior to the start of the mobility period, meet one or more of the following criteria:

Are recipients of the French national student grant (CROUS) and belong to one of the four highest grant levels (levels 4, 5, 6, or 7);

Have a disability with a certified degree of invalidity of at least 50%;

Hold refugee status and/or benefit from international or subsidiary protection, or are displaced persons;

Have dependent minor children (students who have given birth to a child during the 2026–2027 academic year, as proven by a birth certificate, up to the child’s first birthday);

Are engaged in employment (students employed, other than occasionally and not by a family member up to and including the second degree, for a period of at least six months within the 12 months preceding the mobility period, in documented employment, self-employment, or professional activity in the public or private sector);

Are recognised professional athletes (students who are athletes of national interest must present a certificate from the relevant sports federation);

Are orphans of at least one parent (a student is considered an orphan if their father and/or mother died before the date of submission of the mobility application. This status is recognised provided that the student: (a) is under 26 years of age at the time of application, and/or (b) was financially dependent on the deceased parent at the time of death or is in a similarly economically dependent situation);

Are children of victims of terrorism or organised crime.

Supporting documents for Item B will be requested only from successful applicants.

4. Payment mechanism

4.1 The DIGI-ME scholarship is paid in two instalments:

4.1.1 The first instalment, equal to 80% of the total estimated scholarship amount, will be paid within 30 days of signing the Mobility Agreement, provided that the student:

Has submitted a Learning Agreement duly approved and signed by GEM and the host Higher Education Institution;

Has correctly entered their bank details in the designated system.

If any of the above conditions are not met, payment of the first instalment will be made within 30 days of their fulfilment.

4.1.2 The second instalment, representing the remaining 20%, will be paid at the end of the mobility period, subject to verification of:

Fulfilment of the administrative and procedural obligations set out in this call;

Successful completion of the authorised mobility period;

Achievement of learning outcomes consistent with the Learning Agreement;

Proper administrative completion of the mobility period.

Failure to comply with any of the above conditions may result in the loss of entitlement to the final payment and may lead to the total or partial recovery of sums already received.

Acceptance of the mobility period constitutes a formal commitment by the candidate. Consequently, cancellations must be limited to serious and duly documented cases of force majeure. Any cancellation must be communicated in writing to the DIGI-ME Coordinator (digi-me@unipv.it), with GEM Global – DIGI-ME Section (digime.mobility@grenoble-em.com) in copy, adequately justified, and submitted promptly. Cancellation entails the refund of any financial contributions already received. The reason for cancellation and/or failure to communicate it may be considered when assessing eligibility for future GEM international mobility programmes.

4.2 Tax treatment

4.2.1 The DIGI-ME scholarship is awarded exclusively to support participation in the triple degree mobility programme. The scholarship is intended to contribute to tuition and mobility-related expenses and does not constitute remuneration for employment, services, or research activities.

4.2.2 Under French tax legislation, grants awarded to support studies and educational mobility are generally not treated as employment income where they are not paid in exchange for work or services. The DIGI-ME scholarship is awarded solely for educational purposes and does not create any employment relationship between GEM and the beneficiary.

4.2.3 The tax treatment of the scholarship ultimately depends on the individual circumstances of each beneficiary and on the applicable legislation in force at the time of payment. Beneficiaries are solely responsible for determining any personal tax obligations and, where necessary, for making any required declarations to the competent tax authorities.

4.2.4 GEM does not provide tax advice and accepts no liability for the individual tax treatment of the scholarship. Applicants are encouraged to consult the French tax authorities or a qualified tax adviser if they require guidance regarding their personal tax situation. For more information, please refer to the French tax administration impots.gouv.fr or service-public.fr.

5. Evaluation process

Applications must be submitted EXCLUSIVELY through the dedicated form from 18 September 2026 (09:00, Brussels time) to 18 November 2026 (18:00, Brussels time). A complete list of applicants will be compiled, including basic information for statistical and transparency purposes, and may be shared with the European Commission. For more information on the selection and evaluation process, please refer to the Guidelines for Applicants (Annex 1).
