The Facility aims to accelerate the ramp-up of battery cell manufacturing capacity in the European Economic Area, strengthen the Union's strategic autonomy and industrial competitiveness, and support the objectives of the Green Deal Industrial Plan, the Net-Zero Industry Act and the Clean Industrial Deal.  \\nThe Facility will be implemented under direct management by the Commission through a competitive call for proposals. The Commission will remain solely responsible for the evaluation, selection and award decisions, as well as for the negotiation, signature, implementation, monitoring and financial management of the financing operations.
